I Love You
The depth of the concept, “love”
Now, who can describe?
An ocean full of words and phrases
Does not even scratch the ice
But something rather interesting
About this concept “love”
Why, as humans, is it easier to love
Than to be loved?
Now you see, you'd think the opposite
In this world of selfish greed
Where all that we think about
Is “me, me, me and me”
But if you take a closer look
At this upside-down world of ours
You’ll notice we tend to gravitate
Away from loving arms
As babies, when we’re born,
We don’t really have any say
But as older teens and young adults
They tend to move away-
-from loving parents, trying to direct
Their kids on the right path
But instead, trouble is where these kids
Like to be headed at
As grown adults, they do the same
Running away from true peace and care
Instead of fleeing to our Saviour’s arms,
They head straight to despair
Broken marriges, broken homes
Where drugs and vice fill up and roam
Just to avoid, the simple fact
There’s Someone who loves us so
Why is it so hard to understand
This concept of divine love?
From a Creator, a Redeemer,
A Bearer of all care
He waits for you anxiously,
as you’re the only one
A void that only you can fill
Not anyone else under the sun
As one cares for a little creature
A cat, a dog, our pets
How much more our Greatest Redeemer
Cares for us
His children
His friends.
A love greater than the ocean
A love greater than the sky
A love greater than a galaxy
Greater than anything that could be witnessed
By human eye
Someone who died for you
Someone who cries for you
Someone who searches for you, though you act as a foe
“I’ll be with you till the ends of the earth…”
I’ll be waiting for you to come home.
