My Rock
“You are my mighty rock, my fortress, my protector, the rock where I am safe, my shield, my powerful weapon, and my place of shelter” - Psalms 18:2
Summer sunsets, falling leaves
Lover’s, friends and foes
Happy moments, dreary feelings
Times when life seems all aglow
Life is full of twists and turns
Things that no one can expect
Sometimes cheery, sometimes dreary
It’s all but a moment
We get caught up in life’s circumstances
Crazy as can be
Stressed and overwhelmed, we become
Even though it’s all temporary
What is life, then? What’s the purpose?
To work until we die
The fun, the sights, the things we do
It always just flies by
Relationships, they can break
Many people, they do leave
When we think that life is stable
We find ourselves at grief
There is One, though, One I’ve heard of
That stays through thick and thin
Could it be there’s Someone out there,
Who truly is unchanging?
They say He is a Mighty One
A Counselor and a Friend
A King who cares for all His people
No matter who or when
Available at any moment
Eager just to hear
A space in His heart, just for you
A space no one else can fill
A Sturdy Rock and Fortress
The stability you seek
Though life may be a roaring sea
He’ll be the Captain and the Ship
You’ll get to shore safely
Though this trip is temporary,
Our mission, it should be
To get all others on board
And reach our destiny
To be with Him forever, our Best Friend, our Stability.
